Hi! I'm Amanda Silvera, a professional voice actor whose work has been heard across global brands, broadcast radio, viral video games, and channels like Psych2Go, which has a community of more than twelve million subscribers.
My work in the industry pulled me into the broader conversation on AI, ethics, and creative rights. That path led me to establish the Society of Biometric Identity Rights (SOBIR) and SOBIRTECH, initiatives focused on protecting human voice identity and developing ethical frameworks for biometric governance.
My perspective on this issue was published in the State of AI Ethics Report by the Montreal AI Ethics Institute, a report read internationally by policymakers, researchers, journalists, and AI governance leaders. In that piece, I introduced the concept of “The Ursula Exchange” to explain how creative labour and personal identity can be replicated or extracted by artificial intelligence systems without consent, with voice actors being among the most vulnerable.
